Why a Bond Measure?

Sierra High School, founded in 1921, is in need of major funding for repairs and upgrades.  Facilities range from the 100-year-old small gym to the newest building built in 1968, the Presentation Center. These facilities support not only our students, but countless community events and groups.  Enrollment is strong and kids thrive at Sierra, with our rich heritage, a mountain of opportunities, and where lifelong friendships and relationships are built.

The district has gone through a major review of prioritizing needs. SUSD has secured grants, as well as funds from the sale and lease of surplus properties to address the most current need; replacing the main electrical transfer station, which dates back to 1974. We desperately need to pass a bond as we’ve reached the point where our needs are far greater than our district’s financial capabilities.

This is a local school bond, we are not asking for more money to be given to the government.  The bond monies will stay local and will be monitored by a Citizens Oversight Committee to ensure the funds are being spent appropriately.

A Walk Around Campus

If you missed the first Town Hall, we have a video walk-around with a focus on facilities and WHY we need to pass Measure U in November!

Click on the video, or the following link (Watch Here) to learn more about the needs at Sierra High. This video tour shares 6-facilities and their specific needs. We have many other buildings with similar needs. This is just a portion.

Our Unique Value Proposition

We offer a unique blend of community engagement, advocacy for funds, and expert modernization services to transform Sierra High campus.

Transforming Education

We are committed to revolutionizing educational spaces by modernizing and enhancing facilities to foster a conducive learning environment.

These necessary improvements will create a better space for every child in this community for many future generations. It begins with us today.

The list of fundamental needs at Sierra High School and Alternative Education Center is long: roof replacements and repairs, improving campus security and fire safety, repair or replace inefficient heating, air conditioning and electrical systems; updating and modernizing classrooms, labs, technology, fields, farm facilities, bathrooms and common areas.  Due to the age of the campus, ADA (American Disability Act) will be required.

Community Empowerment

By engaging the community in our mission, we empower individuals to make a tangible impact on the education system and student well-being.
